Summer is certainly the best season for tourism: This surely has a great impact on air fare prices, for in July-August, a direct two-way ticket Paris-Beirut-Paris costs around 800 to 900 Euros whereas in the normal season it costs approximately 500 Euros. Summer is the season of sun and heat (beware of the humid climate on the coast and in some mountain regions). It is also the season of festivals, especially the famous Baalbek festival that welcomes famous international music artists in the legendary roman ruins.
Winter is also a season in which tourists can discover Lebanon. This season gives many options when it comes to winter sports. But you must beware of the festive period in December, for the ticket prices tend to double until the beginning of January. There are several ski stations in Lebanon: the skiing season begins in December and ends in spring; sometimes it remains until the month of May.
As for the month of May, the spring weather is warm enough to swim on the coast where tourists can spend unforgettable days: they can ski in the morning and then spend the afternoon on the beach: this is what makes Lebanon so special.
Autumn is a very interesting season as well. In October, the heat waves disappear but swimming remains possible sometimes. This is a very nice thing to do, especially when the tourists rush is over. Autumn is a good season for hiking and long walks in the country. |
