The first electronic Ecotourism Guide in Lebanon appeared this summer 07, as a result of cooperation between: the tourism ministry, USAID, the International Executive Service Corps (IESC), and the federation of tourist establishments unions. This guide gives the opportunity to discover more than 10 000 tourism sites in Lebanon. The minister of tourism Joe Sarkis declared that the launching of this guide responds to the economic and development objectives and has a special goal: the opening and the communication between the tourists and the local populations. As for the USAID representative, he assured that this guide allowed to create new jobs and to discover new occasions of investment within a directive environmental plan of the rural regions.
