Nissan to monitor your driving
By Pascale Youssef | iloubnan.info - August 06, 2008
According to Motoring magazine Nissan will soon be selling cars that push back when drivers try to accelerate too fast.

The “Eco Pedal” system will make the accelerator press upward when it senses that the driver is speeding too quickly. This system will be environmental friendly and safer for the drivers. However, this system will be available in 2009 and will definitely help consuming less fuel in 5 to 10 percent.

The system calculates the most efficient rate of acceleration in a vehicle based on how fast fuel is being burned and increases the return pressure on the accelerator to alert the driver, as a meter on the dashboard flashes and changes colors to help drive the message home. Test model is packed with additional sensor technology to make vehicles crash-free.

So will this new development in Nissan's car be favorable and desirable in the Lebanese market? Will the Lebanese drivers accept a car which denies them the pleasure of accelerating along the highway?...
