Titles, exploits, emotion, but also (and unfortunately) sadness… These champions have marked the last 12-month sports events scene. When it comes to setting up the list, many names are included.

Automobile Sports. He drives very fast but he is not a reckless driver! Roger Feghali won his fifth victory in the rally of Lebanon on November 11th. The 30th International Rally of Lebanon stretching over a 957 Km distance was won by this great Lebanese pilot (on the left) and his copilot Nabil Njeim.

Athletics. Greta Tasslakian, a precious woman! The Lebanese sprinter has won two gold medals! The exploit took place on November 23rd and 27th of, during the 11th Arab games held in Egypt. She first won the supreme title for the100 meters, her favorite distance, then won the 200 m race where this born champion broke the record (23.56) held since 1985 by the Moroccan Nawal Al Metouakal (23.77). The fastest woman of the Arab world is not about to stop half way.

Extreme Sports. Maxime Chaaya, The conqueror! Maxime Chaaya never stopped dreaming and moving forward. His ambition is to plant the Lebanese flag on each of the seven highest peaks of the world (the « 7 Summits Challenge »). He already planted it on the Everest summit last May; after this achievement, he is now conquering the geographic South Pole. Once more, this experienced alpinist surpassed himself by crossing the Antarctic: He started his journey at Hercules Inlet, and arrived at the end of December to the South Pole in 47 days, crossing 1130 km walking and skiing, without any help or assistance. This challenge is part of the "Three Poles Challenge" (Everest, the South Pole and the North Pole). If he wins the challenge, he would be the first Lebanese, the first Arab citizen, the first Middle Easterner, and the 8th man in the world to have reached what seemed impossible.
