The Lebanese are made for Rugby!

Kazandjan was the heart of the future Rugby League federation, starting with a dozen of university clubs in Lebanon. Those universities can provide fields and equipments. The students’ turn-over made all young people adapt to this sport.
However, the bad thing about it is that most of the hardly graduates leave Lebanon to find a job abroad.

During his first visit to Lebanon, Kazandjian heard a lot of Lebanese telling him that no one would be engaged in such a violent sport. “But it seemed that the Lebanese people were made for this sport thanks to the configuration of their heavyset strong bodies. They adapted very quickly and they were at ease just like fish in the water”, he said, adding that this sport is an outlet for their aggressiveness. “Many of them never believed it when they started playing: they always used to ask me: “you only mean this, is it allowed?”
