Beirut has just welcomed a unique sports event in the region. In fact, the amateurs of motor racing gathered on July 26 in the underground parking of City Mall Center, in Nahr el Mott for the “Red Bull Car Park Drift”. Excitement and suspense were waiting for everyone.

In a parking lot that became a circuit, Paul Kassivi was the most spectacular among 19 other pilots who were competing in the “Red Bull Car Park Drift”. During this amazing race, the pilots competed in their own cars on a circuit all the way from the entrance of City Mall to the two floors of the underground parking. They were isolated and properly equipped by the organizers.

The race attracted many spectators and motor racing amateurs who spent the whole night watching this breathtaking show. They had the privilege to follow the whole event and observe all sorts of driving arts all the way from the platforms built especially for the audience and located just in front of the circuit. Moreover, plasma screens were also established to broadcast all the details of the competition. Spaces in the glass rooms were reserved for VIP, media, and invited people.

As for the sport itself, two factors have been taken into consideration by the jury to place the results: the speed and the art of diversion by the use of the handbrakes, as well as the talent of the participants in terms of their engagement in a turning among the pillars of the center at 90 and 180 degrees in a spectacular and very precise way. The jury consisted of discipline stars like the Red Bull pilot Abdo Feghali, Champion of the Rally of Lebanon, and current champion of the Lebanon speed races in Lebanon and the Middle East.

It is worth noting that the event was organized in collaboration with ATCL, the Automobile Touring Club du Liban.
