The national Lebanese team flied to Canada Sunday to prepare for the qualifications (13 – 20 July) of the Olympic Games in Beijing and take part in the “Jack Donohue international classic”. This competition, a three-nation championship will be held from June 30 to July 5 in Toronto and in Hamilton – Ontario. Three countries will be competing: the host country, New Zealand, and Lebanon.
The selected players are : Fadi el Khatib (Riyadi), Bassem Balaa (Blue Stars, Rony Fahed (Hekmeh), Ali Mahmoud (Riyadi), Rodrigue Akl (Blue Stars), Brian Bechara (Mouttahed Tripoli), Roy Samaha (Mouttahed), Jean Abdenour (Blue Stars), Omar Turk (Riyadi), Sabah Khoury (Hekmeh), Mazen Mneimneh (Riyadi), Joe Vogel (Riyadi), Ali Fakhreddine (Riyadi), Hussein Tawbeh (Riyadi).
