As the World week for Road Safety begins this Monday April 23rd (and will last till April 29th), KUNHADI (an NGO primarily aiming to increase awareness and concern about road safety among the youth), joins hands with MEDCO, the first Lebanese petroleum company. The goal is to reduce the number of people being killed on Lebanese roads, through civic education. MEDCO is releasing the new series of co-branded cards “Sharing-Kunhadi” to focus on road safety improvement. The concept of “Sharing-Kunhadi” is simple : whenever a card holder fills his car, he validates the corresponding value with the “Sharing-Kunhadi” card, (without paying additional fees) to accumulate loyalty points to Kunhadi’s account. Then proceeds of this transaction are donated to Kunhadi to nourish its constructive awareness battle.
Through this association, MEDCO explains it wants to fight the tragedy that is becoming a growing reality for Lebanese youngsters, and which is usually caused by drinking and driving. Therefore, many activities are planned by MEDCO and Kunhadi throughout the year in order to make the youth more responsible, especially after drinking and to incite them to be driven home safely.
