 Panama City
”From clear turquoise seas to the coffee farms and cloud forests of Chiriquí, Panama can be as chilled out or as thrilling as you wish.”
Panamá , officially the Republic of Panama, is the southernmost country of Central America and the whole of North America. Situated on isthmus connecting North and South America, it is bordered by Costa Rica to the west, Colombia to the southeast, the Caribbean to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. The capital is Panama City.

The Republic of Panama is one of the most attractive emerging tourism destinations in the world. It has two different oceans, beautiful mountains and rainforests, and has a vibrant rural life. After you come in as a tourist, and see the breathtaking nature, arts, fashion, and dining, I doubt you would want to leave. I guess this explains the large number of Lebanese immigrants in Panama City.

According to the Human Development Index, Panama has experienced an economic boom, making its economy one of the fastest growing and well managed in Latin America, and it is moderately a cheap country to live in, except for food since that is rather more expensive than in other countries.

This is why many Lebanese have created a life in Panama today. It’s a place full of opportunity in which one can grow economically and build a family here surrounded by beauty. Panama is a place full of comforts and luxuries at an affordable price; also Lebanese have found it to improve their quality of living while feeling safe in a country with good infrastructure (Something that unfortunately Lebanon has almost always lacked). An advantage of Lebanese, who acquired an education in Lebanon then immigrated to Panama, is that education in Lebanon is way stronger allowing those Lebanese to have more potential than the locals. Most Lebanese aim to invest or start a business, and Panama has provided this for them since it has plenty of resources at their disposal, so in most instances Lebanese working in Panama means that they own the business.

Panama is a place that allows Lebanese to grow their business along with their adventurous side (fishing, scuba diving, surfing, hiking, bird watching, etc) at an affordable price!

Take a look at this monthly budget for two people:

• Rental or mortgage (a two bedroom apartment in Panama city) : $700 to $1500
• Utilities with moderate air condition use (electricity, gas, water) :$250
• Maintenance and fuel for one small car : $200
• Supermarket items (food and household) : $300
• Entertainment for two ( movies twice a months and dinner four times a month) : $150
• Communication (phone, internet, cable TV) : $100

No wonder the Republic of Panama has been named one of the top 5 places where people are the happiest. Want to immigrate to Panama!? ☺
