BEIRUT - In a conversation with Al-Manar television on Thursday, Syrian President Bashar al Assad affirmed that Syria has no interest in abandoning the resistance.

“Syria’s position toward the resistance in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine will be constant, unless the state of occupation changes,” he said.

Bachar al Assad explained that Syria’s recent openness to foreign countries was aimed at protecting its own interests, and stated that his country would not make any concessions.
