BEIRUT- The Office of the Prosecutor of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon announced on Friday the appointment of Michael Taylor, a British national, as its chief of investigation.

“I am fully committed to investing everything I can offer to ensure that we succeed in our endeavor of uncovering the truth and helping ensure that justice is done,” said Taylor after his appointment. Taylor has extensive experience in criminal investigations, which started in February 1979 within the Criminal Investigation Department of the London Metropolitan Police. He also held the position of Intelligence Director within the Joint Terrorism Task Force (Detective Superintendent, Head of Intelligence, and Counter-Terrorism Command) at New Scotland Yard from March 2004 to August 2006.
