Jumblatt hopes Lebanese will reconsider parliamentary electoral law
iloubnan.info - March 09, 2010

BEIRUT- In his weekly interview with Al-Anbaa newspaper to be published on Tuesday, Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt voiced hope that the Iraqi elections would be a real opportunity for Lebanese to reconsider the parliamentary electoral law.

According to Jumblatt, Lebanese electoral laws stunt political development by preventing young people from voting and the political elite from being elected to parliament.

The PSP leader reiterated that the parliamentary electoral law adopted in 2009 is not a reform and did not change the political scene. Jumblatt also touched on his expected visit to Damascus, voicing hope that the media would not publish rumors on his trip preparations.
