Chirac urges support for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon
iloubnan.info - February 18, 2010

BEIRUT – Former French President Jacques Chirac stated late Wednesday that the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri dealt a severe blow to the whole world. He ensured that the masterminds should not be left unpunished.

Speaking at the fifth commemoration of the assassination in Paris, in presence of Hariri’s widow Nazek and number of political officials, Chirac stated that the international Tribunal would help establish justice and unveil the truth, emphasizing the necessity to back its work and to wait for its results.

Chirac also hoped Prime Minister Saad Hariri to meet his duties, to work on establishing stability and security in Lebanon and to secure the country’s independence and sovereignty just like his father did before.
