BEIRUT- Following his meeting with Prime Minister Saad Hariri on Wednesday, Italian Ambassador to Lebanon Gabriel Checchia told reporters that the two men discussed the details on the PM’s upcoming meeting with Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican.

Checchia said that Hariri informed him of the issues he will address with the Pope, including the importance of dialogue between religions and moderation in politics.

Checchia added that he is also organizing a sit-down between the PM and Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi. “The possible meeting with Berlusconi requires a lot of preparations,” he added.
