BEIRUT- Social Affairs Minister Mario Aoun told An-Nahar newspaper that negotiations over the cabinet formation have been suspended, since “all the offers that were proposed are rejected,” unless the distribution of ministerial portfolios remains the same as the current government.

Aoun also said that Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun insists on naming his ministers, on keeping Telecommunications Minister Gebran Bassil in his post within the new cabinet and on being granted the Social Affairs Ministry.

“Bassil has informed our allies yesterday of Aoun’s point of view,” he said, stressing that they confirmed their full support, a reference to Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Speaker Nabih Berri.
