As-Safir: Gemayel and Geagea insist on being granted key portfolios

BEIRUT-According to As-Safir daily, Kataeb Party leader Amin Gemayel and Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea requested from Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to be granted key ministries, adding that they insisted on having a Maronite minister be responsible for each portfolio.

Gemayel and Geagea’s request was a direct result of Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun’s insistence on keeping the Telecommunications Ministry within his bloc’s share.

BEIRUT - Byblos Bank's Lebanon This Week reported that Lebanese customs revenues reached $1.83bn in 2009, up 64.8% from $1.11bn in 2008.
