BEIRUT- In a statement issued on Friday Deputy Speaker Farid Makari emphasized the importance of implementing Lebanese agreements concerning Palestinian weapons outside the refugee camps as quick as possible.
Makkari said that the cabinet’s rejection of the launching of rockets from South Lebanon into Israel on Thursday was the model that should be adopted in addressing all issues related to Lebanon sovereignty, security, stability and his decision of war and peace.
Makkari also hoped that the positive stand which the cabinet took of rejecting the launching of rockets from south of Lebanon toward the Israeli soil to be remain a general desire and keep Lebanon away from any confrontation that would lead to catastrophic results.
Makari said that the cabinet’s position should be interpreted, as well, by quickly implementing what had been agreed during the 2006 national dialogue with regard to Palestinian weapons outside refugee camps. Makari added that those weapons were being used by Syria as a tool. He said Syria wanted a kind of “non-diplomatic representation” in Lebanon or an embassy that took orders from Damascus that did not benefit Lebanon.
