Zahra : Franjieh was transient visitor to Bkirki
iloubnan.info - December 26, 2008, 12h00

BEIRUT - Speaking to Voice of Lebanon radio station on Friday, Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra says former minister Sleimane Franjieh was a transient visitor to Bkirki on Thursday as he didn’t even attend the Christmas mass.

He remarked a essential error regarding the behavior toward Bkirki as a national reference, as some seek to make it part of a given political group, which is impossible. According to him, Bkirki has never changed neither its political nor its religious stances. He insisted that no one can impose on Bkirki to take part to whatsoever political group.

Zahra also stated that Maronite League efforts did not deliver regarding the reconciliation between the Marada Movement and the Lebanese Forces party. The main thing was to arrange a meeting between the LF leader Samir Geagea and Marada leader Sleimane Franjieh, but the latter renounced. He said that the LF party is committed not to make any media statement in order to avoid any stormy stances, though, no progress was made.
