BEIRUT – Lebanese Forces executive committee president Samir Geagea said “we are facing today a bitter conflict that is worse than the civil war’s”. Speaking to Voice of Lebanon radio station, he pointed out that March 14 forces will use its best endeavors and efforts in order to maintain the conflict in its democratic frame. Describing as “very critical” minister Talal Arslan’s statements, Geagea said they were a clear threatening message from March 8 forces to March 14. He recalled that recourse to an international elections monitoring committee aims to forbid any attempt from the other camp to use violence, intimidation and forced vote during the process.
Speaking of the crucial character of the up-coming elections, LF leader stated that “electoral victory will help up move forward toward consecrating the Lebanese entity and establishing a legitimate true State”. Geagea added that “every citizen must assume his responsibility in these elections”, ensuring that March 14 forces maintain their best efforts to reach unified electoral platform and lists so as to run the elections.
