BEIRUT – Change and Reform bloc MP Chamel Mozaya said on Monday that FPM chief MP Michel Aoun will be hosted in Syria as a senior national leader. He added that Aoun’s visit aims to consecrate the Lebanese-Syrian reconciliation as well as the following political equation “Lebanon in Syria and Syria in Lebanon”.
Mozaya also lashed out on the attack targeting Michel Aoun. He said “March 14 gang, which went politically and popularly bankrupt, depressed and lost all foreign support, goes out from its residence to build up its electoral campaign over invective and offense against the national leader and Premier Michel Aoun”. He added that current tension and offense show their fear from a tremendous Opposition victory in the 2009 parliamentary elections. He recalled that Aoun has refused presidency during the Syrian tutorship while all others rushed to get the best positions.
Change and Reform MP then strongly attacked Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea who criticized Aoun’s planned visit to Syria. He pointed out that Geagea’s “past is a heavy dishonor to Lebanon’s history. The General defended his country while you (Geagea) contributed to October 13, 1990 offensive”. He accused LF leader of deeply undermining and infringing Christians’ dignity.
In conclusion, Mozaya said “the people will sentence you (March 14) in the 2009 spring and prisons’ gates will be open to host all thieves and murderers”.
