BEIRUT - Speaker Nabih Berri said he was cautious and concerned about what was happening beyond borders. He demanded not to disregard Israeli moves or neglect repeated and increasing threats against Lebanon.

Speaking to as-Safir newspaper, Berri said “Lebanese must compare the Israeli proposals, if they meet some electoral interests, to what some parties suggest inside Lebanon and if they were also to meet electoral interests”. He added that Israel is mobilizing its troops and people in order to defeat Lebanon, while some Lebanese “seek purposely to bring some suggestions that may truly lead to destabilize our unity, resistance and defense strategy and which we thought they became from the past and mainly ended through Taef agreement”.

Berri said he was bothered by high tensed statements lately addressed and which only aim to serve pure electoral interests.
