Geagea wondered if laying a wreath in the memory of a martyr has become a problem
iloubnan.info - November 25, 2008
BEIRUT - After receiving a delegation of winning March 14 aligned candidates from the Dentist’s Syndicate, Lebanese Forces Leader Samir Geagea wondered what is happening in the syndicates’ and universities’ election scores calling for everyone to have “the least of self-control” asking if commemorating a martyr in a church has become a problem.

Geagea judged visits to Syria prior to the parliamentary elections to be very suspicious especially that many problems are not yet solved between Lebanon and Syria. Geagea also said that “the clashes in USJ university among students supporting March 14 and others supporting March 8 are not acceptable” wondering if commemorating a martyr who happens to be former Minister Pierre Gemayel has become a problem.

Geagea added that there is no “one ‘Maestro’ for March 8 Forces, he awaits tensions to intensify among parties to later intervene” where he was referring to Hezbollah’s decision, following the Doha Agreement, to grant Talal Arslan’s Lebanese Democratic Party and the Syrian Social National Party two ministers from in the national unity government from the Party of God’s own share.

Geagea also touched on President Michel Sleiman’s Monday visit to Iran, saying that “we must seek arms even from Iran, and then we can decide on what is best for us.”
