Democratic Gathering block leader MP Walid Jumblatt said that the US will not abandon Lebanon nor breach “the new parameters of an independent, sovereign Lebanon”.

After meeting on Wednesday with US Vice President Dick Cheney and National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley and his deputy in Washington, Jumblatt guaranteed the US’ support to Lebanon’s international tribunal and all international resolutions.

Jumblatt called on the Lebanese to keep fighting for Lebanon’s sovereignty and freedom guaranteeing the win of the coming parliamentary elections.
