BEIRUT- Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun emphasized that the defense strategy that he presented “is practical and if they don’t want it they can make use of the national resolutions”, adding that previous experiences proved that the national decrees are not executable.
Aoun addressed reporters following a meeting of his parliamentary bloc at Rabiyeh, stating that the majority are losing their nerve in the issue of the deputy prime minister’s authorities because they fear they will not win this issue. Although the majority has not lost the elections, they are already anxious about what they will do if they lose.
In regards to the Attorneys’ syndicate elections, Aoun declared that the Free Patriotic Movement presented by George Nakhle got a great number of votes. On the other hand Aoun added that the Telecommunications Minister Gebran Bassil did not commit any violation. He had the authority to sign the new cellular contract but he chooses to refer it to the cabinet for further discussion.
Aoun criticized the bad media campaign against Syria’s visits saying that everyone was briefed about the agenda of the visit except him.
