BEIRUT – President Michel Suleiman insists that reconciliation and the media truce do not go against political competition. On the contrary, Suleiman believes that these two elements reflect positively on the political and economic situation in the country. He urges all political parties to continue engaging one another. During a Cabinet session held at the Presidential Palace yesterday, Suleiman said a lot of progress has already been made but there is still more to be done to reconcile rival parties.
Information Minister Tarek Mitri informed reporters that the President will be visiting Iran on November 24 and 25. Suleiman will then head to Cairo and New York to take part in a United Nations General Assembly meeting on religious and cultural dialogue.
