Aoun in Iran: if victory goes to opposition, the unity and pacifistic project would win
iloubnan.info - October 15, 2008
BEIRUT – MP Michel Aoun follows through his visit to Iran. Yesterday, he met with the Iranian nuclear program head and then moved to the Iranian Parliament headquarter.

Aoun explained some details relevant to the FPM-Hezbollah understanding document. Speaking to his counterparts, he stressed that the “unity and pacifistic” project is going to win whenever victory goes to opposition in the 2009 legislative elections.

He also highlighted in his speech the importance of democracy. Moreover, Michel Aoun evoked and enquired about details regarding the up-coming Iranian elections to be held next February.

The visit of the FPM leader to Tehran was strongly criticized by the majority leaders. However, opposition members welcomed his visit to the regional power land. Youth and Sports minister Talal Arslane said this visit aims to reinforce Christian presence in the region. He called on all Christians to be more open to their environment.
