BEIRUT - During an interview with the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Wednesday, MP Ahmad Fatfat declared that there was a link between the attack against an army bus in Tripoli on Monday and Syrian President’s statement that North Lebanon was a base for terrorism.
Fatfat, a member of the Future Movement, said he was waiting for the results of the investigation. He urged all parties to do so. “I am disappointed to hear some Lebanese parties make statements and threats without knowing the truth about what is happening in the North” he said. He added that there was no room for terrorism in North Lebanon.
Asking why Syria deployed military troops along its northern border with Lebanon this month, Fatfat declared that Damas was wrong if it thought it could return to Lebanon through the North: “Arab and international players would not allow it”, he said.
