TEHRAN - Iran on Monday condemned the bomb attack in Lebanon that killed four soldiers and blamed Israel of responsibility for the bombing, the official IRNA news agency reported.
"Iran condemns this terrorist action and considers it contrary to human values," Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Hassan Ghashghavi was quoted as saying.
"Such action serves the goals of the Zionist (Israel) regime, which are aimed at destabilising Lebanon's security and tarnishing its unity and sovereignty," he added.
Four Lebanese soldiers were killed in a car bombing targeting an army bus on the outskirts of the restive northern Lebanese city of Tripoli during morning rush-hour. It came just two days after a suicide car bombing which left 17 people dead in the capital of Syria, Lebanon's former powerbroker.
Tehran is a staunch supporter of Lebanon's Shiite militant group Hezbollah and is Syria's key regional ally.
