BEIRUT - Lebanese President Michel Sleiman called for reinforcing relations between Lebanon and Palestine to help Palestinians overcome terrorism. “Terrorism is depriving Palestinians of their basic rights”, he said.
He also called for keeping weapons out of Palestinian camps. “Weapons have to be restricted to military. Removing armed facilities from the camps would help resolve the social problems Palestinians are facing” he said.
Sleiman added that Israel promoted division in the Arab world.
Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas visited Beirut on Thursday where he held talks with Michel Sleiman.
