BEIRUT - Head of the Lebanese Option Gathering Ahmad Al Assaad said on Wednesday in an interview with Al-Mustaqbal newspaper that Hezbollah and Amal “will see certain surprises during the 2009 parliamentary elections”.

He added : “It is not true that all Shia support Hezbollah”, while declaring that a change would soon “allow many people to express their opinion clearly.”

He affirmed that the Resistance would “use its weapons to put pressure on the electoral process”. He urged Hezbollah to give half of its arms to the majority “in order to achieve the balance it talked about.”
