Following Friday’s attacks in Paris, French President Francois Hollande called the United States and Russia to join a global coalition to destroy ISIS. He also announced a wave of measures to combat terror in France.

While talking to a joint session of parliament at the Palace of Versailles, he said he would increase funds for national security.

"France is at war," Hollande said. “We're not engaged in a war of civilizations, because these assassins do not represent any,” he added. “We are in a war against jihadist terrorism which is threatening the whole world," he said, quoted by Reuters agency.

Hollande also said he would meet U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days to urge them to “combine their forces”.

"We must combine our forces to achieve a result that is already too late in coming," Hollande said.
