The White House says that all stakeholders are needed for Syria talks

BEIRUT | iloubnan.info, with agencies - October 29, 2015, 08h40

Upcoming Syrian peace talks will only be meaningful if all parties involved are invited to the discussions, the White House said on Wednesday.

According to Reuters agency, he added that Iran's participation in the discussions, which are scheduled on Friday, should not overshadow efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis.

"The United States is prepared to work with any nation, including Russia and Iran, to resolve the conflict in Syria," White House spokesman told reporters who were asking him about Iran's invitation to the talks.

Last month, US president Barack Obama had told the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations that "The United States is prepared to work with any nation, including Russia and Iran, to resolve the conflict. He had added: "But we must recognize that there cannot be, after so much bloodshed, so much carnage, a return to the pre-war status quo."
