BEIRUT | iloubnan.info / NNA - April 10, 2015, 12h55
The Internal Security Forces announced today that islamist militant Ousama Mansour and his partner Ahmad Al Nazer were killed yesterday during the arrest of radical cleric Khaled Oblous in Tripoli.
"On Thursday April 9 at 22.25 an ISF Information Branch patrol in the locality of Bab Ramel in Tripoli arrested Hoblous while in his Kia Picanto car. The car was driven by the so-called Amir al-Kurdi. Soon after, a second vehicle identified as an Opel, with two passengers inside, appeared and opened fire at the patrol, injuring two members. The patrol retaliated, killing the two men, and arrested both radical cleric Khaled Hoblous and Kurdi."

Investigations revealed that both dead people were Ousama Mansour and Ahmad Al Nazer. According to the ISF, "Mansour had an explosive belt on him, which a military expert successfully dismantled."

While quoting an anonymous security source, The Daily Star said that the two men were actually killed after a police chase that ended near a Lebanese Army position in Tripoli's Mitain Street. According to the Lebanese daily they were killed after coming under heavy fire by police and soldiers from each side.

A notorious islamist militant, Ousama Mansour was wanted by the authorities.
