Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri responded last night to the televised speech of Hezbollah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Friday evening.
Hariri said on Twitter: “The Lebanese listened this evening to a storm of hatred against Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States in response to the “Decisive storm” against the Iranian infiltration in Yemen”. He added that the “storm of hatred deserves to be ignored, because it is the result of anger, frustration and tension.”

Hariri said: “The insistence to make Iran's interests prevail over Lebanon’s interests has been going on for years now. We will not recognize today the utility (of this approach) and it will not lead us to rushed reactions”.

He added: “The relationship with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States was and will remain greater than to be shaken by abuses and tendentious campaigns. Saudi Arabia has presented to Lebanon and the Arab States goodness, peace and sincere fraternal support, while other countries offered and are still offering advanced projects of wars, conflicts and hegemony”.

Hariri concluded: "Because our country's interest prevails over any consideration, we emphasize the need to pursue the dialogue to protect Lebanon."
