From Monday January 22nd till Friday 26th, the official schedule of the Parisian haute couture for spring - summer 2006/2007 unveiled on the catwalks of the French capital the recent designs of French couturiers. In addition to the ten designers deserving the "haute couture" appellation, the show also received Elie Saab: As a correspondent member, he presented his show at the Trocadero on Monday January 22nd. Alongside the official calendar, around fifteen other couture houses showed their work this week, among which houses of several Lebanese designers who impressed the audience: the shows of Georges Chakra, Georges Hobeika or Zuhair Murad captivated the public. For all these designers, this week is an occasion to show their know-how to the whole world. It represents for those who unveil their collections alongside the official calendar a real media showcase: they can take advantage of the spotlights turned on the mythical French designers, hoping that some light could illuminate them in the eyes of the whole world. In addition to the fact of sharing the catwalks of Paris with the mythical label designers of the French couture, the couturiers can make new contacts, impress journalists who would echo their talent throughout the world… and even meet new clients.
