The great fashion show of the Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad began on the rhythm of the movie song “diamonds are eternal”, from James Bond series. His 2008 summer collection that was presented in the Carrousel of Louvre on the first day of the fashion week in Paris is entitled “Diamonds are forever”… The promise was kept: we were extremely dazzled by the vividness of the mythical diamonds and stars of the 7th art. Silver curtains framed a big screen that showed the faces of movie stars. The dresses of this collection have been created for seven great forties to sixties Hollywood stars.

Vivien Leigh, Rita Hayworth, Audrey Hepburn, Elisabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner as well as the divine Marilyn seemed to be moving in front of us with the best dresses of precious stones colors: ruby red, emerald green, sapphire blue, topaz yellow, amethyst purple, and gray and white just like diamonds…

They accompany the sensual sheath dresses that seem to be extracted from “Gilda”, the straight high waist beautiful skirts of “Rear Window”, the feminine dressing styles of “Some Like it Hot”, and the graphic embroideries of “Sabrina”…. As for the bride, she directly reminds us of “My Fair Lady” with the muse of white and glitters.
