For his spring – summer 2007 haute Couture collection « Goddess in pearls of light», Elie Saab unveiled around forty designs. This season for Elie Saab, the eternal feminine is inspired from a fluid and exquisite goddess, revealed by draped low necklines and ancient pleated, flounced bustiers and butterfly sleeves. Few accessories are used in this collection, except for asymmetric stoles and twirling scarves. Hair is soberly brushed showing the face. The sober cut of the dresses are set off by pearls or sequins embroideries. In this collection, the waistline is often marked with a big ribbon. Taffeta, tulle, or muslin veils mingle in a palette of light colors: aqua-green, ice blue, rose petal pink, lilac and powder gray. Very tender, the woman of Saab looks this summer sparkling as well, with her silk bustiers encrusted with lurex or metal sequins, rippling silvery shimmers all around. Sand-colored lace dresses, layered flounced cuts and black paste- embroidered bustiers. Jet black sequins, flouncing tulle and pleated organza: Saab’s woman is sparkling and mysterious at the same time. |
