George Chakra in Paris: An autumnal charm
Paris, By Diana Kahil
iloubnan.info - July 05, 2008

Apart from the fashion week in Paris, the Lebanese designer George Chakra presented his 2008-2009 Autumn-Winter Haute Couture collection on July the 1st in Paris.

A real anthem of femininity, a charming collection with autumnal tonalities ranging from carmine to slate blue and “mole” shades, including the fetish material of the creator: lace, organza, guipure, taffetas, not to mention the satin leather. “Chakra” is incarnated on both sides in the slender silhouettes of the models.

The “Chakra”-style woman is a woman with a polyvalent style, a woman always filled with a crazy charm and a sense of seduction that sparkles just like a blaze of immortality.

Lady in light

An idealized reflection of a stunning lady that shines just like a flashing light, a light that came closer and further as suggested by the creator: a lady in light, gold and bronze, dressed in glowing material emphasizing the curves decorated with glitter and paste… The lady seems to make a romantic “apparition”.

Femme Fatale

The long-line bra dresses mainly worn by stars like the actress Helen Mirren who chose a “Chakra” Carmine dress for the 80th Annual Academy Awards) comes to add a special touch to a mythical black cocktail of robes in this collection.

According to George Chakra, the long-line bra dress, whether it was long or short, is an absolute version of femininity, just like the discreet low-cut and the tied plunging back omnipresent in his collection.

Lady in Romance

The cut satin leaves and, in organza, the knots, the embroideries, and the petals filling the dresses, come to give a rhythm to the collection granting it an ultra-romantic note.

The wedding dresses, subtle note marks, closed the fashion show of the season with their amazing charm.

The philosopher Montesquieu says: “THE caprices of fashion among the French are astonishing; they have forgot how they were dressed in the summer: they are even more ignorant how they shall dress this winter: but, above all, it is not to be believed how much it costs a husband to put his wife in the fashion”. The genie spirit of George Chakra will never stop surprising us by always responding to the women’s caprices…
