Zuhair Murad: a professional touch at the Opera
Paris, By Élodie Morel Lebbos

A real skilful man… This is how we can qualify Zuhair Murad's Autumn-winter Haute Couture fashion show, which took place in Paris on the 1st of July, according to the Fashion Week.

The theme was a dreamlike vision since the young designer concentrated on the mythical touch of silk, which, in his universe, will embrace the Russian customs, the popular cultures to lure the spectators to the Volga river steps of Caucasia to which the show is baptized to be entitled "Souvenirs de Samarkand" (Memories of Samarkand)

The setting gave the event a luring of extraordinary theatrical representation: organized within a lavish Comic Opera theme, the show benefited from the magic of the location, with the the gildings that decorated the room.

The red velvet sofas, the dress circle and the dressing rooms were brewing with the murmurs of an impatient audience: everyone gathered to create a memorable moment in the Parisian Fashion Week.

Velvet, muslin of silk, tulle and lace, shantung and gazar, renard and chinchilla, golden embroideries, of silver or crystal: from the drawn patterns with luxurious materials tributes to the central Asia weavers of Mongolia and the Orient.

Carmine red, fresh blue, silent brown, deep black, and old rose dressed the silhouettes with the greatest sheath dresses.

Tall or short, the dresses were decorated with flying embroideries and feathers for a real feminine mystique walking the pedestal.

The hair was lifted in a braided bun. Sometimes gloves above the elbow give the scale model a real touch of nobleness.
