PARIS - At the age of 71, Sunday July first, Yves St Laurent passed away in his house in Paris.

A legendary remarkable designer for 40 years adding flair and luxury to women's fashionable themes for the 20th century.

St Laurent was born in 1936 in Algeria, and shown signs of creativity since his early years.

At the age of 16 he joined Christian Dior's house and when Dior died in 1957, St Laurent was named head of the House of Dior while he was only 21. A year later he was a star in the world of fashion. Later he started a ready-to-wear of Rive Gauche boutiques with his friend Berge who stayed with him till the day he died.

In the 60's he was in the league, and known around the world, however in the early 70's he was accused of justifying drug abuse with the release of this perfume Opium.

In his late years, it has been said that he battled drug abuse and alcohol due to his depression and loneliness. But Before retiring he made sure that he would never be forgotten due to the fashion show he set off in 2002.
