Along with the charming music of the last captivating album of Kylie Minogue, Elie Saab presented his autumn winter 2008 ready-to-wear collection on the 1st of March in Paris.
With her multicolored Elie Saab dress, every woman seems to incarnate the Mondrian spirit this winter. Moreover, the dress wrapped with vaporous muslin, Georgette crepe, and silk crepe refers to the geometrical compositions of the De Stijl movement master.
Wool, felt, taffeta, and cloths decorated with pearls and spangles warm the atmosphere in winter. Striated with black and white, or squared with colors, the models are presented in a great pallet of primary colors. Emerald green, ultramarine blue and royal blue, dusky red, ruby red, and ice blue… The black regulates all other colors to emphasize them with moderation. The waist is low and sometimes, it reaches the area under the breast. However, in some of the models, hips appear clearly. Dresses are either long or short and edged by sable.
Patent leather bags and wallets are just like jewelries. This winter, Elie Saab will make the woman wear high heel brogue shoes or croco black knee high boots. The tight chignon of this winter will emphasize the slender neck with a floating scarf on a denuded back. Kohl will cover the eyes, eyeshadow will decorate the lids with dark colors, and “nude” style make up will be applied on the remaining parts of the face.
