Elie Saab: Ode to the 7th Art
July 04, 2007, 02h30 - updated

On July 4, 2007, Elie Saab, correspondent member of the French Syndicate Chamber of Haute Couture, presented his new collection within the official calendar of the autumn winter 2007-2008 fashion shows. In the magic décor of the famous winter Circus Bouglione, the show of the most famous Lebanese fashion designer was characterized by thousands of silver glittery lights.

For this season, the woman by Elie Saab has her hair tied up in a chignon on the lower part of the neck reminding of the classic dancers’ hair style and discloses a sensual and impulsive character. As if inspired by the black and white movie stars, this new collection dazzled the spectators with its metallic glitters, adding small sparkles to the most subtle and changing nuances of grey varying like a thunder sky: powdered grey, metallic grey, crystalline grey, pearl grey, wild grey, lilac grey, … so many tonalities that make of the Saab woman a glittery woman like she appears in this shell sheath dress in embroidered satin, inaccessible in a metallic jacket topstitched with in depth designs, insatiable in a sumptuously embroidered dress marked with rings and tulle. As the 55 dresses shone on the catwalk, black overtook the grey color sometimes for full length dresses as dark as the night, ornamented with petals of tulle and organza, taffetas, filaments and feathers.
