BEIRUT - After witnessing major fires raging out across Lebanon, the Lebanese Environmental Party urged to take a united stance toward this disaster.

Further, it asked the government to put environmental issues, especially fires, on its work schedule and deal with it as soon as possible.

In the same perspective, it proposed to form a ministerial committee that is charged of putting a comprehensive plan departing from 4 major principles: indicate what institution or ministry is in charge of the environmental problems in Lebanon and hold it accountable, prevent the fires, supervise the forests, and punish whoever causes these fires.
