BEIRUT, July 2, 2007 (AFP) - An earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale jolted the Bekaa Valley region of eastern Lebanon on Monday, without causing casualties or damage, the seismology centre said.

The quake at 0623 GMT was felt by residents of the towns of Zahle, Talya et Shemstar, it said.
