This area was marked by a whole generation of establishments. It is a place where culture rubs elbows with entertainment, dinners, and parties. Regular visitors of this area remember Wimpi Café: facing Picadelli theatre, this building is now destroyed. It was attended by concert and musical comedy fans (especially the one of Ziad Rahbani) who desired to go for a drink around midnight. However, Hamra is still alive and active and includes a big amount of students due to its proximity with the American University of Beirut.

Sky Bar

This bar is located on the roof of Palm Beach Hotel. Inaugurated in 2003, it is one of the first “roof bars” created in Lebanon. The Sky Bar of Beirut is just like the one of Los Angeles: glamorous and full of beautiful women. We happen to find some local celebrities there. We can also swim during the day. As for the night, music is mixed with the colour of the sky: when the sun goes down, the atmosphere becomes more relaxing for those who wish to taste their amazing cocktail under the shining stars.
