Forum de Beirut was fully occupied and not even a single chair was empty; people were anxiously waiting for them to start their show. When Ahmed Ahmed showed up to host the evening; he was greeted with vehement applause and cheers from the audience, he asked the spectators not to blame him if they didn’t like the friends they brought along but to blame the promoters. However, the surprising element of the evening was the friends coming along to perform with Maz Jobrani and Ahmed Ahmed.
Sebastian and Eric shook the theatre with their lively original and hilarious performance. Both were highly observant of the Lebanese culture and habits and they picked up many of their material after spending one night in White Bar. Sebastian and Eric separately, but however both, spoke of the relationship matters and how Middle Eastern men behave around their women, how they approach the ladies and how the Lebanese ladies are wicked hot but unreachable if you don’t have money.
Ahmed Ahmed asked the audience repeatedly not to call Hezbollah if they got mad at him, and spoke of his childhood memories growing up in California as an Arab.
Dean was more into politics, using Arabic words every now and then, especially when he wanted to curse Bush. Later, he introduced us to a new vocabulary to be used by Middle Eastern on msn such as “RBBBI” which means “rather be bombed by Israelis”.
Mazz was greeted with undying applause from the audience when he showed up; he was also holding a bottle of Almaza beer in his hand and promoting it. He made fun of the Lebanese driving techniques and what he has noticed from partying in White Bar.
Two hours of nonstop laughter and fun, with unforgettable jokes regarding the Lebanese society and all cultures in general.
