On the streets of Beirut, the political situation fired up the “On Sale” banners

The Lebanese : the major clients of this summer

reportage
In Kaslik, which is usually a commercial area, the number of clients is certainly higher than the ordinary. A saleswoman at a sports shop declared that sales largely improved this summer. “Let politicians leave us alone to live”, she said spontaneously. “At last, the Lebanese emigrants returned, we are finally seeing tourists stroll in the streets of Kaslik!”, she added.

According to her, discounts contributed to 75% of the sales increase. The saleswomen in a lingerie shop also express their satisfaction vis-à-vis the sales, but note that the Lebanese living in Lebanon are the major clients of this summer: “their shopping taste returned when the political crisis was solved”, they said.

As for clients, satisfaction is also revealed, they said, explaining that discounts are interesting because they take place during the inflation phase: “the season was excellent”, explains Myrna who didn’t dare to look at the articles’ labels before the “On Sale” period, due to the huge price increase. She admits that she turned into a real “shopaholic” in these last few weeks.
