Limits and needs: A rock specificity
These hypnotic music styles, using samplers and machines have all the needed tools at hand. But to record, a rock group needs a studio, space, good microphones, sufficient amplifiers, properly captured and recorded drums and guitar tunes: a whole different procedure … which seems not to be easily found in Lebanon.
What lays missing are real professionals with deep knowledge in the rock alternative fashion. The first album of New Government was sort of self produced: Hamdan was the official producer and Saliba the drummer was in charge of the final mastering which made it a kind of a family collaboration. This made Regnier consider that in further albums there will certainly be other necessities and essentials.
Their needs don't stop here because there is a missing issue more imminent than others, which is that of the media. The media is simply absent and doesn't show nor support groups that start now matter how appealing they may be.
Even if New Government is featured in some articles in Elle Oriental, l'Agenda Culturel and the Daily Star, it has no access to the mass media who are only interested in Arabic pop.
However NRJ's radio station does try its best every now and then to support local Lebanese bands through its live shows.
