BEIRUT- In an interview with As-Sayyad magazine and al-Anwar newspaper to be published on Thursday, Lebanese Forces Strida Geagea revealed that the party was preparing for a conference to be held soon to announce the names of the candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections in June.
Geagea affirmed that she and that she and MP Elie Keyrouz would run for candidacy in Bcharreh, MP Farid
Habib in Koura, MP Antoine Zahra in Batroun and MP Georges Adwan in the Chouf.
She added the elections would be decisive, because it would define the country’s path for the next four years. Geagea also welcomed the formation of a neutral parliamentary bloc, which, she said would ensure the delicate political balance in Lebanon.
Geagea added the united Arab position toward the Gaza crisis would be the strongest factor in confronting Israel.
Regarding the prospective reconciliation between the Lebanese Forces and Marada Movement, she said both parties agreed on a truce in media outlets, for the moment, and hoped it would pave the way for a full one.
MP Geagea said the Special Tribunal would reveal the identity of those responsible for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, in addition to all other assassinations and explosions, which had taken place over the past four years.
