BEIRUT - In an interview with the daily newspaper As Safir, Former Prime Minister Omar Karame said that Fouad Siniora’s visit to Tripoli on Monday should have occurred a long time ago. The Lebanese Prime Minister is to meet with Tripoli officials, syndicate members, municipality members, and Christian and Muslim religious leaders to discuss the security, political, economic and social conditions in the city. This meeting is supposed to help end the violence in Tripoli. 

“Siniora’s step is important,” Karame said, but what is more important is security. “Without security, nothing can be achieved,” he added.
